Jewish Therapist in California |
A Safe, Nuanced Space for Whatever Comes Up
Being Jewish is not one experience. Whether you're deeply observant, culturally connected, secular, or still exploring your relationship with Judaism, you deserve a therapeutic space that honors your unique identity and history.
As a Jewish therapist in California, I offer an open, attuned space for clients from across the Jewish spectrum—including Ashkenazi, Sephardi, Mizrahi, converts, interfaith families, and those who may feel disconnected from Jewish spaces altogether. You don't need to explain or defend your relationship to Judaism here. Therapy is a place where you can simply be.
Judaism is not one-size-fits-all. For some, Jewish identity is rooted in spiritual practice and community; for others, it’s cultural, ancestral, or shaped by collective memory and trauma. You may hold pride and pain, clarity and ambivalence, grief and belonging—all at once.
In our work together, we’ll make space for the complexities of your Jewish identity and how it interacts with your relationships, mental health, and personal history. Whether you’re navigating generational trauma, experiences of antisemitism, or the nuances of being Jewish in multicultural or interfaith spaces, you deserve support that understands the layered nature of your experience.
Navigating the Rise in Antisemitism
In recent years, many Jewish individuals have found themselves holding increased anxiety, fear, and grief in response to a growing wave of antisemitism. These experiences may be direct or indirect—ranging from hate crimes and harmful rhetoric to feeling erased or misunderstood in progressive or interfaith spaces.
As a therapist, I offer a space where you don’t have to minimize your experiences or compartmentalize your identity. Whether you're processing current events, historical trauma, or feeling isolated within your community, you are not alone. Therapy can be a space to hold the weight of these realities without judgment or simplification.
I bring a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and relational approach to therapy. As a first-generation Iranian-American and Jewish therapist, I understand what it means to move through the world with layered identities—and to navigate the expectations and tensions that can arise between them.
My therapeutic lens is informed by:
-
Relational Therapy – Honoring the impact of family systems, community expectations, and generational patterns on how we relate to ourselves and others.
-
Trauma-Informed Care – Recognizing the impact of historical, religious, and intergenerational trauma on mental health, and working collaboratively to restore a sense of internal safety and strength.
-
Systems Awareness – Holding space for how larger social and political dynamics—including racism, antisemitism, and cultural erasure—shape individual experiences.
-
Inclusivity and Intersectionality – Whether you’re queer, multiracial, questioning your faith, or navigating interfaith relationships, your full self is welcome here.
You might come to therapy with specific goals, or with a sense that something’s missing or unspoken in your life. Common areas we may explore include:
-
Grief related to communal trauma or current events
-
The pressures of “representing” or explaining your Jewish identity
-
Interfaith relationships and cultural negotiation
-
Feeling disconnected or ambivalent about Jewish traditions
-
Navigating family expectations and multigenerational dynamics
-
Isolation in predominantly non-Jewish spaces
Our work is tailored to your needs. You set the pace, and together we’ll uncover what support, clarity, or relief might look like for you.
This is not a space where you need to perform or conform. You don’t need to come with answers—you just need to come as you are. Whether you're looking to process long-held stories or simply want a therapist who understands the nuances of being Jewish, I’m here to support you with care and curiosity.
If you’re looking for a Jewish therapist in California who can hold space for your full identity—religious, cultural, ancestral, and beyond—I invite you to reach out.
